We all have things that we say we want in life, and the truth is that only ten per-cent of us get the things that we truly want. The reason is that below the words that you’re speaking, there are five things going on. And that’s creating a start-stop pattern, where you’re saying that you want something, yet you’re putting your foot on the accelerator and on the brake at the same time. And you sputter to a stop, and most people can’t break that pattern.
So underneath the surface, what’s going on is x, y and z. And until x,y and z are addressed, you’re going to find yourself in that start-stop pattern for your whole life---and you may spend more time in stop than you do in go.
The three things that are stopping you from getting what you want are thoughts, beliefs and emotions. And where thoughts, beliefs and emotions show up are in your relationship to yourself, your relationship to others and your relationship to the world.
Some people do really well with their relationship to themselves and to others, but where they break down is in their relationship to the world.
Others are fine in their relationship to others and to the world, but where they break down is in their relationship to themselves and their inner dialog---they’re at war with themselves every day.
And some people are stuck in all three.
I’m about to give you a very important principle; it is a universal law---it works unerringly---and just like man-made laws, ignorance of the law is no excuse.
What you believe about life now is what controls your life, the Law of Cause and Effect.
This principle says you always get what you want; there are no exceptions.
Wanting is defined: conscious and subconscious. Most of what controls us is on a subconscious level. Wants are a result of beliefs. Many of our beliefs are acquired under circumstances that cause us to suppress them immediately after we adopt them.
Therefore, we don’t remember where they came from --- in fact, we aren’t even consciously aware of many of them.
So, most of our beliefs, the operating principles in our lives, are on a less than conscious level, and we have thousands of these beliefs. They become the unwitting filter through which we see life; it’s sort of like putting on a pair of dark glasses and then forgetting that you are wearing them. Yet they are creating our life moment by moment. Why? Because the brain decodes reality through these beliefs, and it becomes a self-fulfilling reality.
What you create you create because you want. You want it because you believe it. This is a result of a belief that this is necessary in your life.
We are picking up information from the cosmos and decoding it into our experienced reality. What we do and do not decode from it, is dictated by how our decoding system works, and that is dictated by our sense of perception. And our belief systems come from our sense of perception.
When we are in mind-based separation consciousness, as we have been for the past thirteen thousand years, we do not connect the dots to see wholeness. We see a polarized world (good and bad), this has become the unwitting filter through which we decode reality. We judge everyone and everything. When you judge anything, from an energy standpoint, you lock the energy up tight, and where you lock it is always in the same place, in your physical body.
Our beliefs then, are based in fear and limitation, and survival (how to survive in an unsafe world), so we create separation. These beliefs are creating our life moment by moment, because the brain decodes reality through these beliefs, and it becomes a self-fulfilling reality.
Research has shown that when we have rigid beliefs, the brain fires off neurons in a specific network which decodes reality in line with what these neurons are firing. So, it edits its reality and creates a self-fulfilling prophecy; it keeps seeing the world according to its belief, despite receiving information that challenges that belief. It filters out that input in order to protect its belief. Then when you change your belief system, the neurons start firing in a different way and you begin to see the world differently.
We are creating everything that happens in our lives, both the good and the bad—there are no exceptions. It’s easy to claim the good; and in many cases it’s much more difficult with the less-than-good. You might wonder if it’s a bad job or a major upset with a friend, “Why would I create that in my life? I certainly don’t want that!!” And furthermore, there are probably many situations in your life where you could easily get agreement from your family, friends and colleagues, that it really was the other person who did it! But that will only serve to keep you stuck.
There is one simple way to use the Law of Cause and Effect, and it’s the only way to use it successfully, and that is backwards. If you see what you have created in your life, you know you wanted it. Done that way, you will never fool yourself. If anything occurs in your life, you know you created it. Not onlydid you create it, but you want it to be precisely the way it is.
Many people have difficulty with this, and seem to be forever be looking for exceptions to this rule of law; the situations that seem so outlandish that it’s hard to believe that they have created those things in their lives, and they ask, “How could this possibly be a result of cause and effect?” Well, it is!
What’s fascinating about is this: If you were given one wish, and you were told you could have as much time as you wanted to decide one thing, one power that you could have. After you have read all of the literature and consulted with the most brilliant people and given as much time as you required and you finally chose the one thing that could be the greatest thing that you could possibly have; what you would ask for without question, is the Law of Cause and Effect.
What does it say? It says, you can haveanything you want, and in fact, you get it!! Our task then, is to learn how to use this law consciously. Everything that you experience in your life, is a projection outside of you of your state of consciousness, that’s all you ever experience. So look at life as though you were looking at a mirror; everything is a direct reflection back to you of what you are asking for.
We do create everything that happens in our lives, and it’s wonderful that it is that way, because as you get in touch with universal principle, as you get in touch with that part of you that is real, you will experience such magnificence that it is beyond the ability of the human mind to describe it.
We tend to believe that we are who we project ourselves to be, and such good actors and actresses are we, that we do a good job in convincing each other, that we are how we project ourselves. So we get locked into this crazy situation of acting certain ways that are much less than perfect, and much less than who we really are, and getting the reinforcement from others who respond to us the way we project ourselves.
If we can let go of beliefs and come from a state of knowing---consciousness rather than mind-based beliefs---then we open up our range of understanding well beyond anything that is accessible from beliefs. When we open our mind to consciousness, everything changes. The trick then is to break this spell, we have to get in touch with the fact that we are not our beliefs. We are not our thoughts, we are not how we act, and other people aren’t either.
1. Recognizing that you always get what you want, you take responsibility for the fact that you created the situation even though you may not be conscious mind aware that you did. We know from the principle involved that you did indeed create it; and principles are unfailing. Until you do own it, you will just keep experiencing it; and it will only increase in intensity for the simple reason that you’re putting your energy into it, and by focusing on it, it expands.
2. Because we have falsely identified ourselves with our polarized mind, we are in a continual state of judgment. Make-wrong or judgment in every case, is a comparison. It means you are comparing what you are actually experiencing to an imaginary standard of how you think it should be, or how you wish it was, or something like that. In truth however, there is no such thing as right or wrong, good or bad in the physical universe. Everything that happens is just another event that you singly or in group created.
When you judge anything, from an energy standpoint, you lock the energy up tight, and where you lock it is always in the same place, in your physical body. Judge anything, judge anybody, and what you end up doing is creating extraordinary energy blocks in your body which you carry around as pain.
So, it’s the judgment, the make-wrong that holds the unwanted condition in place. Why? Because you are locking horns with the Resistance Principle, and it says resistance equals persistence. The very act of judging is so counterproductive that you cannot get on with your life when you do it; it is a total block. The only solution then, is making peace with the judgment.
3. This is a critical step; how would you like to feel? Since we all want to feel good, the answer is pretty obvious. And to do it you have to make friends with the Harmonizing Principle.
There are actually two ways to use the Harmonizing Principle; one way is to use it to integrate the situation you have the negative feelings about, and the other way is to integrate the unpleasant feelings themselves into your sense of well-being. Either one of these approaches will work. However, there is a potential problem using the first method; and it is somewhat analogous to letting the fox guard the hen house. The problem is that the mind you are trying to change is always the same mind that is directing the process. It is quite capable of tricking you into falsely believing that you’ve resolved the situation, and you’re left with positive thinking. That only creates an even thicker barrier between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind by plastering over the unresolved feelings. Therefore, it is extremely useful to know that if you make peace with the feeling by shifting the context in which you are holding it, the mental context (the situation you were making wrong) will also shift.
Breath Alchemy is the practical application of the Harmonizing Principle, breaking it down into a step-by-step process (known as the Five-Step Harmonizing Method) that you can use effectively and efficiently to resolve any unwanted condition. It does so by going well beyond symptom masking and quick-fixes and harmonizes the distortion in the base-state; it goes to the root-cause of the problem and resolves it by transmuting the energy at the feeling level, so you end up feeling good again.
Transforming or transmuting at the feeling level is the process known as integration; it creates this “gap” between your thoughts and allows the pure presence of Source energy to come through you; namely joyfulness, inner peace, creativity and unconditional love.
This re-creation of what has habitually been held as an unwanted experience then, is what produces the result in my Breath Alchemy Technique. It includes the realization that thoughts and feelings are the same thing perceived through two different internal senses, so every thought has a corresponding pattern of energy, a feeling in the body. You practice this principle by learning to impartially watch your thoughts and to feeltheir corresponding patterns of energy (feelings) in your body.
Doing so gives you perfect access to the content of your subconscious mind, to the core of limiting beliefs that are unerringly producing results based on fear and limitation. It gives you access to the energetic (feeling level) component of your subconscious mind, If your conscious mind really knew what was going to solve your problems, the problems would be solved. Part of the nature of the conscious mind is that it doesn’t know what is in the subconscious mind. Your body does know; and when you integrate at the feeling level, you have simultaneously integrated at all levels and throughout all of your senses.
Re-creating your thoughts and feelings enables you to disappear them; it allows you to transmute them into the light and truth of your Higher Self. This leaves you with space – space from which to create from your Higher Self. It is the same principle as turning on a light in a previously completely darkened room. Darkness cannot survive in the presence of light; the light transmutes the darkness into itself.
So, you become an impartial witness by listening to the voice in your head as often as you can. You want to begin to notice the repetitive thought patterns; the old endless loop recordings that have been playing in your head perhaps for many years. As you watch and listen to your thoughts, you will begin to feel a conscious presence ---your deeper selfunderneath the thought. The thought then loses its power and quickly subsides because you are re-creating it instead of energizing it through identification with it. The same holds true when you are feeling with detailed awareness, by giving your total attention to whatever you are feeling most prominently in the moment.

Hey Bob,
I'm about to turn 40 and I experienced a very swift and profound spiritual awakening a little under two years ago. As a result of this, my life took a very different direction and I developed a burning desire to learn about who/what I actually am, and what existence is about. This led me to the Amazon Basin to stay with a shaman and experience plant medicine, after which I realized there are other ancient practices that can also shed negative energies, one of which is breathing techniques.
So whilst reading about rebirthing in Bob's revised edition of Nothing in this Book is True, But it's Exactly How it is, I decided that this is the guy to show me his Breath Alchemy technique.
I took part in several sessions, every one of which was different from the last, with each one culminating in a massive uplifting burst of positive energy pulsing through my system. I felt and literally knew that I am pure energy as the intense feelings came and went, it was a thoroughly liberating experience. Even though my first session was extremely intense, I never once felt afraid, I always felt comfortable under Bob's guidance, he really does know what is going on with you the moment any sensation changes occur.
As a result of my Breath Alchemy sessions, I am flowing through my life much smoother, my reactivity is calming down, and I am meditating with more ease and for longer. I certainly feel more in touch with my higher expression, and that is everything to me, because that's what I came 'here' for
All in all I strongly recommend Breath Alchemy to anybody who wants to further their spiritual journey or simply improve their general well-being in this life, and Bob is the man to learn from.
P.S. I've done one Breath Alchemy session and it was superb, I had strong feelings of energy in my feet, hands and chest again, and I was over the moon afterwards! I plan another session this weekend/early next week, thanks again for your brilliant guidance.
I'm loving the book by the way

I first came across Bob Frissell when a good friend handed me her 'Nothing in this is True ...' book. I read it quickly as it was well written and intriguing. I was challenged by the information that at once seemed so familiar yet outside the realm of my reality.
When I read about Bob's experience with his Breath Alchemy sessions, I called and signed up for 12 sessions. I did not know what to expect so I didn't expect anything, and was just open to whatever experience was coming my way.
Bob has given me a tool that is basically life changing. Each session has left me feeling very calm, relaxed, centered, energized, in tune with, and receiving clear messages from my inner compass, and feeling great!
I feel like I have been given a phone line to download information directly from my Higher Self. Actually, I feel I have been taught to use the phone line that I already had all along.
Have you ever had the experience of a great idea just spontaneously popping into your awareness? Where did it come from? I have asked myself that a lot in my life and I have been looking for a way to be able to tune into (and download so to speak) that information at will, my entire life.
Have you ever had that feeling that your mind could do more than what you have accessed so far? I have and I have looked for a long time to find a tool to help unlock that potential, to get out of my own way and let it flow. I wanted that door when I felt myself getting stuck and I needed to clearly hear my own internal guidance system.
The really great thing was that I had no idea that was what I was going to learn!
Perhaps it is different for everyone but that was my experience and I am so grateful to Bob for his coaching and his straight-forward, no nonsense ability to teach this!
And upon completion of my 12 sessions, I am doing really fantastic! As always, it has been interesting and wonderful and challenging.
I did my first Breath Alchemy session on my own yesterday for an hour and it was amazing! I actually heard Bob’s voice in my head giving advice and direction and I was grateful and amazed and was at a level 11 on a scale of 1 - 10 when I ended! Loved it, and I am so grateful that I was given this life-transforming tool!
Thank you, Bob!
Warmly,
Julie Ross
